Flooding in Kerr County, Texas

Humanity First USA initiated its Disaster Relief operations on July 7th from the Dallas region, mobilizing to support communities impacted by the devastating Texas Hill Country (THC) Floods—beginning with Kerr County and the city of Kerrville, TX.

The disaster resulted in 121 fatalities and an extended search effort. The flooding impacted several counties, with Kerr County experiencing the most fatalities. In addition to the human toll, the floods caused billions of dollars in damage.

Disaster Response to Texas Floods State Rep Josey Garcia with Humanity First USA team

Texas Hill Country Flood Response

Humanity First USA volunteer teams from Dallas, Austin, Houston, and Fort Worth have supported victims and response teams.

Nearly 50 HF volunteers have served hundreds of hours together with VFW, state representatives, local groups, and individuals joining the HF team. We have also worked directly with families whose homes sustained significant damage.

  • – Gutting and cleaning residents’ homes to be ready for repair and rebuilding.
  • – Providing medical care to victims and volunteers.
  • – Helping load and deliver supplies to support the broader relief effort.
  • – Assisted with search efforts covering expansive areas.
  • – 8000 units of water distributed to Salvation Army and Marantha Christian Center.

Humanity First USA is proud to work with State Representative Josey Garcia. Rep Garcia has addressed our group on site and joined our planning calls to coordinate with us and thank HF volunteers.
