Providing life-giving health care around the world.

Impact

Access to healthcare is essential, but it’s also expensive–and sometimes, it’s just not available. Less developed countries pay the price: low-income countries have a life expectancy that is 18 years lower than that of high-income countries.

So Humanity First USA tackles this problem through a multi-pronged approach that delivers care to as many people as possible. Humanity First builds hospitals so that people can access care. But not everyone can travel to a hospital. That’s why Humanity First USA also operates mobile medical clinics, so that patients can get care where they live. And our medical missions bring experts from different countries together to see patients who might otherwise go untreated. And we send necessary medicine and supplies to our partners.

Medical Missions

Medical and surgical missions boost local access to health screenings, medications, and treatments. Our Doctors 4 Humanity medical teams run mobile clinics, join forces with healthcare institutions, and train healthcare professionals to build local capacity. We support teams of local doctors, nurses, and staff to host clinics in areas with few medical institutions. And healthcare professionals from the United States travel abroad to see patients, provide training, and work together with local teams.

Student Gift Of Health Missions

Humanity First USA and our Humanity First Student Division lead learning exchanges for U.S. students to support patient care as we inspire a new generation of medical professionals to serve those in need. Working with our Global Health team, students plan the trip, fundraise for their travel, and join U.S. or local medical professionals serving patients at rotating clinics in underserved communities. Recent exchanges to Guyana and Guatemala allowed pre-med and medical students to work hands-on in patient care and shadow doctors to observe quality care in low-resource settings.
