I returned from Turkey a bit over a month ago. The earthquakes that have devastated this beautiful country have left an indelible mark on my heart. It has been a difficult journey, both emotionally and physically, but the resilience of the Turkish people and the unwavering commitment of our Humanity First team have inspired me to share our story and renew our efforts.
Our team arrived in Turkey with a singular mission: to alleviate the suffering of the earthquake victims by providing essential resources such as food, healthcare, and clean water. Witnessing the devastation firsthand, we were struck by the scale of the disaster. Collapsed buildings, homes turned to rubble, and families torn apart by the cruel hand of nature. However, amidst the heartache, the spirit of hope and solidarity was ever-present, and Humanity First workers fearlessly stepped up to help those in need. We provided immediate medical care and have expanded to operate a soup kitchen feeding hot food to thousands of earthquake victims every single day.
