“As we hear news of a ceasefire in Gaza after 15 months of war, death, and destruction, we look forward with hope for the people of Gaza, the hostages and their families and salute our team for serving against all odds.”

An initial statement from Humanity First UK, which has led the Humanity First global response to this crisis.

Amidst Unimaginable Hardship, Humanity First Stands with Gaza

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has left millions of people—particularly children—grappling with loss and hardship. In the long months of war, nearly 15,000 children have lost their lives and nearly 90% of Gaza’s population has been displaced. Many are enduring the trauma of losing their homes, families, and sense of security. The challenges in providing aid are as immense as the people’s need. Yet, in these dire circumstances, Humanity First USA remains steadfast in delivering hope and tangible support through Humanity First’s global relief effort that has reached hundreds of thousands of Palestinians.

Food Support: Fighting Hunger Amid Scarcity

Food scarcity continues to challenge families across Gaza, with supplies severely limited. Thanks to your support, Humanity First distributed food parcels and cooked meals for families each month, offering nourishment and relief to some of the most vulnerable populations.

Shelter: Protection from the Elements

Over more than a year of conflict, people have lived through the hot summer sun and cold winter nights. Humanity First distributed tents for families to have shelter from the elements and a place for privacy and daily living amidst the trauma around them.

Clean Water: A Lifeline for Thousands

Access to clean water remains one of Gaza’s most urgent needs. With your generous contributions, Humanity First has been able to fund critical water trucking services, providing clean drinking water to thousands of people each month in areas like Al Mawasi, Khan Younis, and Gaza City to meet a basic yet vital human need for survival.

Education: Rebuilding Futures in Temporary Spaces

The destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure and education system has left thousands of children without a safe space to learn. Humanity First’s Smiles for Gaza program is bridging this gap by providing education to hundreds of children every week through our temporary learning spaces in Al Mawasi and Khan Younis. Despite the devastation, these spaces offer children not only education but a sense of normalcy and hope for a better future.

Looking Ahead

With a ceasefire, the ability to provide critical aid will surge and Humanity First will continue the vital work of helping the people in Gaza access clean water, food, education, and medical care. As the situation evolves, we’ll be there to aid in recovery. While the challenges are immense, together we can continue to serve and bring hope to those who need it most.
