Turkey Earthquake
On February 6, 2023, two devastating earthquakes – 7.8 and 7.5 in magnitude, respectively – hit Türkiye and Syria. This disaster killed 55,000 people and directly impacted 17 million.
Our Impact
Humanity First USA sent a rotating team of medical personnel to Osmaniye, Türkiye to provide medical care to survivors – treating injuries, ongoing medical conditions, and providing mental health services as well. More than 5,000 patients were treated and given medicines or medical supplies.
In Hatay Province, Humanity First USA together with HF-UK and HF Germany set up a field kitchen at the request of the Turkish Red Crescent. The team served breakfast and dinner at multiple sites and tent camps, ultimately preparing and delivering over 1,000,000 meals.
